Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate dissolution of zinc or a zinc alloy without causing pollution of a soln. due to impurities by contacting the zinc or alloy to stainless steel in the soln.
CONSTITUTION: Zinc or a zinc alloy is contacted to stainless steel by being placed on a stainless steel plate, net or the like in a soln., or it is indirectly contacted to stainless steel by being connected to a stainless steel plate or the like through a lead. A container, a bag, a basket or a vessel made of stainless steel plate, grid or net may be used as a container for dipping zinc or a zinc alloy. By this method a dissolution rate about equal to or higher than that of zinc dross or hard zinc is attained, and the rate can freely be regulated by varying the stainless steel contact area.
