Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the early sampling possible, and to make the test accuracy possible to be obtained exactly, by filling the vent pipe to be connected to the container with the powder the same as the powder to be filled in the container, and by applying the hot hydrostatic press treatment simultaneously to contents of the vent pipe and the container obtaining the representative test specimen.
CONSTITUTION: The valve 7 is opened and the container 1 being filled with the powder material 3 is evacuated through the main exhaust pipe 4; then, the valve 7 is closed, the valve 8 is opened, and the powder 9 the same as the powder 3 is supplied from the powder reservoir 6 to fill up the vent pipe 2 being under the vacuum condition; after that, the upper end of the vent pipe 2 is sealed by the sealing device 10. After thus filling up the container 1 and the vent pipe 2 with the powder, the hot hydrostatic press (HIP) treatment is applied at specified temperatures under specified pressures. After HIP treatment, immediately the vent pipe 2 as being filled with the powder is broken by the hammer, or only the vent pipe 2 is cut off, obtaining the representative test specimen for the powder sintered body held in the container 1.
