Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the dimension measuring accuracy by securing a highly effective movement of the water in a short time by means of the pump and then fixing and unifying the water temperature at the periphery of the measuring and compensating probes.
CONSTITUTION: The water in tank 5 which is sucked by the pump flows into enclosing component 6 from ceiling wall 65 through pipe 7 to move to the lower side without scattering. The water then reaches quickly the periphery of transmission and reception parts 271 and 272 of measurring probes 27a and 27b through the periphery of transmission/reception part 281 of compensating probe 28b and reflection part 282 of reflector 28a, and then flows outside through lower hole 6c of component 6. Thus the temperatures can be made even and constant at the area where the ultrasonic wave transmitted from probe 28b and reflected by reflector 28a passes and the area where the ultrasonic wave transmitted from probes 27a and 27b and reflected by tube 1. Furthermore, the water containing no bubble is sent into component 6 since the pump is installed at the bottom part of tank 5, thus increasing the measuring accuracy.
