Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize and lighten a valve sleeve, by locating a torsion bar twist angle limiting device which prevents the valve sleeve from being affected even if an excessive torque is applied to an input shaft in the case of a manual operation.
CONSTITUTION: An input shaft 1 serving as a valve sleeve as well is of a tubular shaft, a torsion bar 2, which is secured by means of a pin 11 at the rear end on the input shaft, being mated in an inner circumferential surface thereof. The other end of the torsion bar 2 is fitted in a hole made in the rear side of a pinion shaft 3, being fastened on the pinion shaft 3 by means of a pin 12. The pinion shaft and a rack shaft 4 are independently supported at a housing 5 by means of their respective axes, the rack shaft being pressed against the pinion shaft 3 by dint of the pressure of a spring 15 adjusted by an adjusting screw 14.
