Abstract

CONSTITUTION: This flat plate type image display unit consists of an electron source section 41 with a frame-extended linear hot cathode base, electrode 42 for taking out the electrons emitted from the electron source section 41, electrode in which the external signal voltage is applied to the removed electrons, control electrode groups 43 with the electrodes which deflect electron beams horizontally and vertically, and cathode plate 44. A fluorescent material is coated on the cathode plate 44. As a result, a metal-backed emission display board is obtained.
