Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a glow starter by incorporating a movable electrode which consists of bimetals and which operates by the heat generation of glow discharge in one electrode section of the internal discharge space in a fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION:When the switch SW of the power circuit 8 closes, glow discharge is generated between the movable electrode 10 consisting of bimetals and the lead wire 4 which functions as a fixed electrode. The movable electrode 10 is stretched by its heat generation and contacts the lead wire 4. This permits the filament 5 to be heated. The movable electrode 10 is cooled and shrinked and contacts are opened. The high voltage induction kick is generated by the choke coil of the stabilizer F and lamp A is lighted.
