Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title composition having additive effect, composed of dehydroacetic acid or sorbic acid and o-phenylphenol.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of dehydroacetic acid or its salt, or sorbic acid or its salt, and (B) pref. 1W40wt% of o-phenylphenol. The germicidal effect of the (A) component is not necessarily satisfactory when used in the fields of paint, sizing agent, adhesive agent, etc., however, it is synergistically improved by the addition of the (B) component. Since the (B) component is extremely low-toxic, the resulting composition is also safe.
