Abstract

PURPOSE:To control advance in a wide degree of freedom changing ignition timing between medium speeds and high speeds by changing the gate voltage of a thyristor between the off state and on state of a transistor that controls the thyristor which generates ignition signals. CONSTITUTION:As a transistor 17 is off at low speeds, a current which flows from a pulser coil 3 enters the gate of a thyristor 11 entirely via resistors 12 and 13. Therefore, the thyristor 11 is triggered at early appropriate ignition positions. As the number of revolution is increased, charging voltage to a capacitor 8 is increased and the transistor 17 becomes on. Between the off and the on states, a transient period M exists while the transistor 17 changes from off to on. As the period M is passed through when the transistor becomes on, the current flowed to the gate of the thyristor 11 is shunted to the collector of the transistor and ignition timing is delayed.
