Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a developer giving printing quality with high resolution and contg. a carrier having a long life by mixing finely powdered toner with the carrier having larger and smaller two particle size distributions which are about equal to or smaller than the particle size distribution of the toner. CONSTITUTION:A finely powdered toner having 10-15mum particle size is used. An Fe base material such as Fe2O3 having 10-15mum particle size and that having 2- 5mum particle size are used as the 1st and 2nd carriers, respectively. The 2nd carrier is added to the 1st carrier by several wt% and mixed. The mixed carrier is then mixed with said toner to prepare a developer for electrostatic photography. The 2nd carrier improves the fluidity and transferrability of the toner, enhances the resolution synthetically, and contributes to the prevention of ground stain. By selecting the resistance values of the 1st and 2nd carriers, charges can be applied to the toner by a stable quantity.
