CONSTITUTION:While muddy paste 1 of the specific gravity of 2-3.5 being stored in a vessel 2, a plate grid 3 is burried into the muddy paste 1 by its own weight and an application of mechanical vibrations. Next, a pair of dry cloths 5 are pressed continuously against both sides of the plate grid 3 in the directions of solid arrows by rollers 4 so that the plate grid 3 is moved in the direction of a broken arrow, removing water from the paste 1 of the plate grid 3. When dewatering, the dry cloths 5 sandwich the paste 1 of the plate grid 3 from the upper and lower sides at the places of the rollers 4 and absorb water from the paste 1. The dewatering process continues until the thickness of the plate grid 3 becomes equal to that of the paste 1. The dry cloths 5 are continuously caused to pass through their respective washing devices 6 and dryers 7, refreshed and reused.
