PURPOSE: To enlarge space in engine rooms and facilitate maintenance and inspection by a mechanism wherein stage portions are formed to the intermediate portions of the sides of a ship over the ship length direction, and the upper sides of the stage portions are swollen to the outsides.
CONSTITUTION: Stage portions 41 are formed over the ship length direction in the intermediate portions in the height direction of the side shell platings 1 of a small- sized ship integrally molded with FRP, etc., the both side edge portions of decks are connected on to the stage portions 41, and engine rooms 5 are formed to the lower portions of the decks while bridges 4 are made up to the upper portions. The sides 1 of the ship of the upper portions of the stage portions 41 of the side shell platings are swollen to ensure that the nearer the sides approach to the upper ends the more the sides expand to the outsides of the sides, and deck passages 6 are formed to the upper portions. Thus, space is enlarged only by portions swollen to the outsides of the sides in the engine rooms 5, and the maintenance and inspection of an engine 50 are facilitated.
