Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the electrolysis current density from being lowered by continuously flowing an electrolytic washing liquid between a surface of a running strip and a continuous flat surface of an opposed electrode mutually arranged in parallel to a running direction of a strip to prevent a gas from being accumulated due to electrolysis.
CONSTITUTION: A strip 10 running through a washing liquid 8 supported by a pair of support rollers 9 in paralle or in an almost parallel condition is present in an electrolytic tank 7 and a pair of opposed electrodes 11 having a continuous flat surface is provided to an upper and a lower surface of the strip at a predetermined distance. Herein, a washing liquid is continuously flowed between the strip and opposed electrodes from a washing liquid injecting apparatus 12 equipped with a slit 12a for injecting the washing liquid and a liquid supply passage 12b to a running direction of the strip. Thereby, the gas generated by electrolysis is exhausted from a space between the strip and opposed electrodes to the outside.
