Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent coating defects such as orange peels and sags by assuring a fixed film thickness beforehand with water dispersion type paint of high solid content then spraying water-soluble type pain having the molecular weights of the specific range.
CONSTITUTION: In a coating method of water paint under high humidity conditions by supplying hot air to around the paint particle groups discharged from a sprayer and superposing plural wet-on-wet coats, the paint of high solid content using dispersion type or water-soluble type resin is sprayed prior to final spraying. After the greater portion of the film thickness has been assured, the water-soluble type paint comprising essentially synthetic polycarboxylic acid resin of ≤30,000 number- average molecular weight is sprayed as final spraying for the purpose of controlling appearance and quality. It is desirable for the performance of the coating film that the monomer composition of the paint resin to be sprayed in the final process is the same as that of the resin for paint to be sprayed in the previous process.
