Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a casting mold having a continuous plated inner surface without seams on four peripheries and with good accuracy by a method wherein a base body of a casting mold comprising copper or a copper alloy is assembled in a rectangular shape and a plating liquid is held therein and an anode having four corners protruded therefrom is arranged to carry out the electrolytic plating.
CONSTITUTION: Four sides 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b of a base body of a casting mold comprising copper or a copper alloy are assembled in a rectangular hollow shape and inlaid and jigs 5, 6 are applied through packings 3, 4 and fixed by fastening to constitute a plating tank. Subsequently, a rectangular cylinder shaped annode 9 having four corners protruded therefrom to a diagonal direction is fixed so as to approach leading ends of the protruded portions 10 to corner portions of the base body to be plate. Sabsequently, a pretreating liquid is recirculated through arranged pipes 7, 8 to pretreat the surface to be plated and, thereafter, a plating liquid is recirculated to subject the surface to the electrolytic plating. By said method, a plating layer with a desired thickness can be applied homogenously on inner side surfaces of a casting mold.
