Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the capacity of oil separation without increasing the blower capacity by a method wherein plural barrier plates that cause turbulant flow of exhaust gas are installed in the oil separator along the flow of exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Oil-containing gas generated from the oil tank 1 is guided to the oil separator 12 through the exhaust pipe 3 and the inner cylinder 15, passes through the spiral passage formed by barrier plates 17aW17h between the outer 13 and inner 15 cylinders, and discharged to the outside through the exhaust outlet 19. During gas passage, because of the difference in the inertial force of oil droplets and exhaust gas, the oil droplets in the exhaust gas are effectively trapped by the barrier plates 17aW17h, the inner surface of the outer cylinder 13 and the inner surfce of the inner cylinder 15, so that they are easily separated from the exhaust gas. The separated oil flows down, goes through the drain outlet seat 18 at the bottom plate 16, and is taken out from the drain pipe 4.
