Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a recorded image free of uneveness with high transfer efficiency, by subjecting a 2-color visible image formed on a photoreceptor surface with toners charged to both polarities to weak DC corona charging, and then transferring it to a recording paper by AC corona charging. CONSTITUTION:Photoreceptor 1 having photoconductive layers different from each other in senstitivity to chromatic colors undergoes primary charging and simultaneous illumination, e.g. of a red light to form an electric double layer in photoconductive layer 1A, and then it is subjected to secondary charging of opposite polarity in the drak, followed by exposure to optical original images of black BL, white W, and red R, and a visible image is formed with black toner TBL and red toner TR charged to polarities different from each other. Drum 1 with this visible image formed undergoes negative precharge 6 with DC voltage source 61, followed by transfer charge 7 with AC voltage source 71, and at the same time, a 2-color recorded image of black, white, and red is transferred to a transfer paper, thus permitting uniform image transfer to be effected with high transfer efficiency as for black toner TBL and red toner TR.
