Abstract

CONSTITUTION: When medium 9 is driven by feeding roller 1 and is sucked into inserter 10, the lower end and the upper end of medium 9 are detected successively by permeating sensor 2. In this process, a print line is detected by character detecting sensor 3. Since roller 1 is driven by the pulse motor, the number of pulses of the pulse motor between two points where sensor 2 is operated is counted and is compared with a logical value to decide whether slip exists or not in the sucking-in stage of medium 9. That is, it is decided that slip exists or mediu 9 is outside the normalized size in case that the number of pulses is larger than the logical value, and the control is not transferred to the next print line set operation in this case, and thus erroneous printing is prevented.
