Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve denitrification rate with simple installations by circulating the water to be treated in a reaction tank to nitrate the same with aerobic activated sludge then subjecting the same to an aeration treatment to reduce BOD followed by sepn, of the activated sludge.
CONSTITUTION: The crude night soil from a storage tank 1 is supplied to a reaction tank 3, where gaseous oxygen is supplied thereto through a flow passage 4, and the crude night soil is circulated and fluidized by a pump flow passage 5 so that the BOD is reduced and ammoniacal nitrogen contents are nitrated by the effect of aerobic activated sludge. The treated water from the tank 3 is supplied to a preaeration tank 6 where it is blown with an oxygen-contg. gas through an air supply line 7, after which it is supplied to an aeration tank 8. In the tank 8, diluting water from a water supply line 9 is added thereto and an oxygen-contg. gas is blown through an air supply line 10 so that the BOD of the water to be treated is reduced by the aerobic activated sludge.
