Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to execute a variable magnification copying without using a zoom lens which is complicated and expensive, by providing two independent optical systems according to variable magnification, and selecting them at the time of copying. CONSTITUTION:Two optical systems whose copying magnification has been set, for instance, to 0.8 time and 1 time are provided, and this device is constituted of a slit plate 6 having slits 6a, 6b for each magnification, optical path adjusting mirrors 10, 11 for refracting a light beam which has passed through the plate 6, to lenses 8, 9, and fixed mirrors 12, 13 for leading an original image from the lenses 8, 9 to a photosensitive body 7. By this constitution, in case when the variable magnification is varied to other magnification than said magnification, it is possible to vary easily by moving the lenses 8, 9 in accordance with the variable magnification, or exchanging them. In this way, a variable magnification copying can be executed at a low cost without using a zoom lens mechanism which is complicated and expensive.
