Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the volume of waste expanded plastics to be disposed without melting the waste plastics and to continuously dispose the waste plastics with a saved energy consumption, by charging the waste expanded plastics to be disposed into a hopper, and heating the waste plastics to extract air from the interior and to shrink the waste plastics. CONSTITUTION:A turnnel-type heating oven 18 comprises an outside part 18, and a heat insulating layer 22, an electric heater 24 and a radiating surface 26 each arranged inside the outside part 18. The radiating surface 26, subjected to a blackening treatment, forms a surface for radiating far infrared rays. An air-introducing opening 28 for introducing air toward the inlet side of the heating oven 18 is arranged near the outlet of the heating oven 18, so that a heat in the heating oven 18 is not dispersed through the outlet but directed to a hopper 14 communicating to the heating oven 18. The material 12A, to be treated, in the hopper 14 is preheated by hot air from the heating oven 18. Consequently, included air is purged and the material is shrunk. As a result, the material is successively changed to a state easily falling downwards. Thus, the material to be treatd is reduced to the minimum volume.
