Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a sintered alloy having excellent abrasion resistance and characteristics not damaging an object contacted therewith which comprises Cr, C, a sintering promoting component, a metal oxide and Fe in a specific ratio and has a specified theoretical density ratio.
CONSTITUTION: Said sintered alloy has a composition comprising, in the wt%, 3W 25 Cr, 0.5W7C, 0.05W6 one ore more of B, P, Si 0.05W15 one or more of an oxide of Cr, Co, Zr, W, Ta Nb, Ti, Ni, V, Mn, Mg, Fe and the remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities and has a theoretical density ratio of 90% or more. Herein, Cr and C show a necessary and sufficient amount from a standpoint of abrasion resistance. When an amount of B, P, Si is below the lower limit, sintering promoting effect is lost and, when the upper limit thereof is exceeded, a liquid phase generating amount becomes excessive and a crystal particle and carbide are made rough or said carbide comes to a needle like from and thereby, desired characteristics is not obtained. When said metal oxide is below the lower limit, because an existed amount thereof in a particle interface is defficient, a crystal particle is not made sufficiently fine as well as the carbide is not formed into a lump like fine form and, when the upper limit thereof is exceeded, bonding strength of the crystal particle is extremely reduced. When the theoretical density ratio is below the lower limit, crack propagation or deficiency in bonding force of the metal oxide to a base material is brought about.
