Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain an optimum air conditioning in a selected space which is being air conditioned by an air conditioner having a plurality of indoor units with an auxiliary heat source and coolant control valve by a method wherein when a load exceeds an air conditioning performance, the auxiliary heat source and coolant flow rate from another space are controlled properly.
CONSTITUTION: When the load in the space selected by a selection switch 6 increases so large as to exceeds the performance capacity of the air conditioner, the temperature in the selected space changes accordingly. Such a temperature change is detected by a thermister installed in the space, and determined by a microcomputer 5P, which provides a signal to change the performance of a compressor 1A. The compressor 1A, receiving this signal via a capacity controller 5V, changes its performance. This signal also controls auxiliary heaters 2K to 4K in the space. If the air conditioned state in the selected space to be air conditioned does not become optimum, the electromagnetic valves 1D to 1F of the space of the other spaces 2R to 4R in which the air conditioned state is substantially optimum are controlled to restrict the air conditioning therein. Thus, the air conditioning in the selected space can be optimized without degrading the comfortablity in the other spaces.
