Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent initial rapid downward movement in particular, through a device for controling the operating speed of a hydraulic actuator, by causing oil to flow into a flow meter and a flow control servo valve to obtain a required flow rate signal to start operating the hydraulic actuator.
CONSTITUTION: When a hydraulic cylinder 1 which is adequate to pull a solidifying ingot down from a mold by the head of a dummy bar in the semicontinuous casting of aluminum or the like is to be driven downward, a first changeover valve 9 is shifted to a left-hand position, a flow control servo valve 16 is shifted to a right- hand position and a third changeover valve 15 is shifted to a right-hand position to conduct pressurized oil from the valve 9 to a passage 30 through the valve 15. At that time, a pilot check valve 21 remains closed by a back pressure because pilot pressure is released by the valve 15. For that reason, the pressurized oil returns through a counterbalance valve 22, a flow meter 23 and the flow control servo valve 16. After that, the valve 15 is shifted to a left-hand position to open the check valve 21 to move the hydraulic cylinder 1 downward.
