Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate overshooting and unfixing by providing a means of measuring the temp. of prescribed parts and calculating temp. change rates from the measured temps., and a means of controlling supply electric power to heaters in accordance with said temps. and temp. change rates. CONSTITUTION:A temp. sensor 6 and a pressure sensor 7 are used for the fixing temp. control device. The thermistor 6 detects the surface temp. of a fixing roller 1 by contacting with its surface, and the sensor 7 is installed between the respective shafts of the roller 1 and a backup rolle 2 and is so arranged as to detect the pressure of the roller 1 and copying paper 3. A microcomputer 16 operates temp. change rates and compares the same immediately with the reference value in a memory 17. Hence, it is possible to control the surface temp. of the roller 1 with the idedal curve including the heat capacity of the system, and phenomena such as overshooting and unfixing are eliminated.
