Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the usableness of a magnetic card reader by a method wherein a card is left in the card reader and yet the card reader is so constituted that the picture indicating cooking contents printed on the card can be seen from outside in the heating equipment equipped with an announcing mechanism and the magnetic card reader.
CONSTITUTION: A card 24 is inserted in the magnetic card reader pulled forward from the equipment. When the data on the card 24 is correctly read, the announcement "card matched" is outputted and when the data on the card 24 is incorrectly read, the speech instruction for re-insertion is outputted. After the read is finished, the card 24 is left in the card reader 26. Accordingly, the picture indicating the cooking contents can be seen through a transparent window 25. When the card reader 26 is pushed back in its place, manual keys 22 are covered by the card 24 so as not be touched by users and only a start key and a cancel key are operable and the speech instructions for operation to the two keys are outputted.
