Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a long-sized inorg. amorphous material by adding a specified binder to a mixture contg. a specified metallic oxide or hudroxide and capable of forming a solid soln., melting them, and very rapidly cooling the melt with a cooling body rotating at high speed.
CONSTITUTION: To a mixture capable of forming a solid soln. is added 0.001W 10mol% oxide, hydroxide, chloride or sulfide of Al, Pb, Bi, Si, Ge or other element as a binder, and they are melted. The mixture consists of oxide or hydroxide of Ti, W, Mo, Nb, V, Ta or other metal or ≥1 kind of ferrite compound and 1 or ≥2 kinds of metals selected from alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, La series metals, Ac series metals and other metals. The melt is then cooled at a very high cooling rate such as 105W106°C/sec by spraying on a cooling roll rotating at 500W20,000rpm at -30°CW30°C surface temp. in a vacuum or an inert gaseous atmosphere. Thus, a filmlike inorg. amorphous material is manufactured stably.
