Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

(1) A support mechanism, a guide drive means provided on the support mechanism, and a carriage carrying an optical pickup means and guided and driven by the guide drive means; a screw shaft rotatably held by a support mechanism; a drive source that rotationally drives the screw shaft; and a drive source that is arranged parallel to the screw shaft and cooperates with the screw shaft to slidably support the carriage. An information recording disc player comprising a guide shaft and a biasing means for biasing the carriage in a direction toward the screenie shaft.

(2) The biasing means includes a spring member whose end portion is fixed to the carriage and whose other end slidably abuts on a predetermined contact surface provided on the support mechanism in parallel with the screw shaft.
