1 and 2 are magnetic tapes, and 3 and 4 are first and second blocks, respectively, which are arranged so as to form a gap 5 therebetween. A pair of grooves 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b are formed in the blocks 3, 4, respectively, and an air intake hole 6 is provided in the grooves.
It is designed to hold and fix 2. A cutting blade 7 constitutes a cutting means for moving in the direction of arrow A, passing through the gap 5, and cutting the magnetic tapes 1 and 2. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1a, the magnetic tapes 1, 2 to be cut and joined are held in the grooves 3a, 4a, 3b, 4b of the blocks 3, 4;
If the magnetic tapes 1 and 2 are fixed and the cutting blade 7 is moved in the direction of arrow A, the magnetic tapes 1 and 2 are cut at predetermined locations as shown in FIG. 1b. Then, as shown in FIG.
If a is matched, the cut portions of the magnetic tapes 1 and 2 will be opposed to each other. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 1d, a splicing tape 8 is applied using a splicing head, which will be described later, to join the two.

However, in the past, when viewed from the side as shown in FIG. 2, as shown in FIG. 2a, the grooves 3b,
When the magnetic tape 2 (and the magnetic tape 1) held in the magnetic tape 4b (and the grooves 3a and 4a) is cut by the cutting blade 7 as shown in FIG. 2b, elongation occurs at the cut end. In this state, the other block 4 is displaced and the cut ends of the magnetic tapes 1 and 2 are made to face each other as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 2d, the magnetic tapes 1 and 2 overlap at the joint. This overlapping portion is, for example, the magnetic tape 1, 2.
When used as a video tape in a video tape recorder, it may get caught in the tape guide, magnetic head, etc., causing serious problems such as damage to the magnetic tape or accidents such as cutting.
In particular, elongation at the cut end is significant in thin magnetic tapes intended for long recording times.

FIG. 3 is a plan view showing the main parts of the present invention,
An L-shaped arm 11 is provided rotatably by a support shaft 10, one end of this arm 11 is connected to the one block 3 via a shaft 12, and the other end is connected to air via a shaft 13. Piston shaft 1 of cylinder 14

As shown in FIG. 4, the block 3 is placed on a mounting table 18 by being locked with a dovetail groove 19. In the dovetail groove 19, the block 3 is connected to the block 4, and the magnetic tape 1,
It has a gap 20 that allows movement by a distance that eliminates the overlapping portion of the two. A leaf spring 21 is inserted into this gap 20.

With such a configuration, when the tape joining operation is viewed from the side as shown in FIG. 5, the magnetic tape 2 (held in the grooves 3b and 4b (and grooves 3a and 4a) Then, the magnetic tape 1) is cut with a cutting blade 7 as shown in FIG. 5b. The cut end stretches as shown in Fig. 5c, but as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the air cylinder 14 is operated to rotate the arm 11 and move one block 3 in the direction of arrow c'. Displace it to. At the same time, the other block 4 is displaced in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tape so that the cut ends of the magnetic tapes 1 and 2 are opposed to each other. In this state, as shown in FIG. 5d, there is no overlapping part at the cut end, and while maintaining this state, the splicing head 9 is moved as shown in FIG. 5e.
The splicing tape 8 is attached using the following steps. In this pasted state, there is no overlapping portion at all, as shown in FIG. 5f. On the other hand, when the air cylinder 14 is operated to return, the block 3 is moved in the direction of arrow c and returned to its original position. Normally, a large play is likely to occur between the block 3 and the mounting table 18 due to the slight elongation of the cut end, but this is reliably absorbed by the leaf spring 21.

Furthermore, in the present invention, if the elongation of the cut end differs due to differences in the thinness of the magnetic tape, the material, etc., the width of the gap 20 of the dovetail groove 19 can be adjusted by a conventional adjustment means using a screw or the like. Of course, if this is made possible, various types of magnetic tapes can be effectively cut and joined.

That is, as mentioned above, the present invention has a joining device for cutting a tape and joining it to another tape, which includes a pair of blocks having grooves for holding and fixing the tape and a gap between them. , a cutting means having a cutting blade for passing through the gap and cutting the tape, and a moving means for moving at least one of the blocks in the longitudinal direction of the tape only by eliminating the overlapping portion. Because of this, even if the cut end of the magnetic tape stretches, it will not overlap and be joined, making it extremely effective in eliminating the drawbacks of the conventional method.

Moreover, by implementing the present invention, the tape can be slid while fixed to the block to prevent overlapping, so it is possible to prevent overlapping at high speed and with a simple configuration, regardless of the tape thickness or material. Extremely useful.
