In the invention, the engaging element and the engaged element are generally manufactured by first weaving a monofilament as a warp when weaving a base fabric, and forming an engaged element using the monofilament to form a long and wide piece. Then, as shown in FIG. 1, in the case of female side fasteners, the areas where square, triangular, animal-shaped surface fasteners are used, etc. of the long and wide surface fastener band 1, The engaging element was formed by cutting out the cutout parts 2 and 3 in an arbitrary shape range depending on the usage condition, or in the case of a male side fastener, by cutting one leg of the engaged element of the surface fastener material 1. Thereafter, the surface fastener band 1 is manufactured by cutting out a cutout portion having an arbitrary shape, similarly to the female side fastener.

ある。 However, in conventional hook-and-loop fasteners manufactured in this way, the engaging elements are present over the entire surface of the base fabric, making it difficult to sew the hook-and-loop fastener to the adherend. When sewn onto an article, the engaging element is bent down by the sewing thread and protrudes from the edge of the hook-and-loop fastener, resulting in an unsightly appearance. Therefore, as shown in Utility Model No. 54-54404, the entanglement needles that are planted on the entire surface of one side of the base fabric are removed, leaving only some areas, and the entanglement needles in those areas are removed using a high-frequency welder, etc. It is known to be formed as a smooth part that is pressed onto a base fabric by heating and pressurizing and welded. However, with this method, the base fabric is cut in the first step, and in the next step, a part of the entangled needles is pressed onto the base fabric using heat and pressure to form a welded smooth part, so for example, the periphery of the base fabric When welding parts, there are two steps: cutting and welding using heat and pressure.
The work time increases and the work becomes complicated. In addition, when the base fabric has a complicated shape, cutting and welding by heating and pressurizing it is very troublesome, and there is a problem that the workability is poor.

By arranging the hook-and-loop fastener strip, irradiating it with a laser beam at an angle, and cutting it, the peripheral edge of the base fabric can be made into a border where no engaging elements are present.

Reference numeral 13 indicates a large number of engaged elements 15 on one surface of the base fabric 14.
This is a female side fastener with an upright structure. The peripheral edge portions of the double-sided fasteners 10 and 13 are flat edged portions 16 and 17 in which the engaging element 12 and the engaged element 15 are not present. In the illustrated example, each engaging element 11 is erected one by one, whereas a plurality of engaged elements 15 are erected in groups.

製造することもできる。 Such surface fasteners 10 and 13 are made of a long and wide surface with a large number of engaged members 15 erected on one surface of a base fabric 14, as shown in FIG. When cutting a product with a predetermined shape from the fastener strip 1 to make a surface fastener, the laser beam 20 is focused on a focal point 22 by a convex lens 21, and the surface fastener strip 1 is cut with the engaged element 15 on the lower side. , the surface fastener strip 1 and the laser beam source side are relatively moved and cut while being positioned below the focus position 22, so that the laser beam is irradiated at an angle;
It is possible to produce hook-and-loop fasteners with edges 16, 17 in which there are no cutting and engagement elements. Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the hook-and-loop fastener strip 1 and the laser beam source side are relatively moved with the engaged element 15 facing upward and positioned above the focal point 22 of the convex lens 21. It can also be manufactured by cutting.

The engaging element evaporates and disappears, and although a part 18 of the engaging element near the area irradiated with the laser beam remains, most of it melts and solidifies together with the base fabric 11, leaving a flat edged portion 16 on the periphery where no engaging element exists. It is formed in the part.
Similarly, in the case of the female side fastener 13, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the engaged elements in the part irradiated with the laser beam evaporate and disappear, and the engaged elements in the vicinity of the part irradiated with the laser beam evaporate and disappear. Although a portion 19 of the interlocking element remains, most of it is melted and solidified together with the base fabric 14, so that a flat bordered portion 17 in which no engaged elements are present is formed on the periphery.
