Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent expensive helium from being consumed by heat generation due to a shunt current during energizing/deenergizing of a superconductive coil and to protect a permanent current switch exactly during the normal operation of a superconducting magnet, by connecting an interrupting switch, which interlocks with a connector, in series with a protective resistor. CONSTITUTION:When a superconducting coil 1 is energized/deenergized, current introduction leads 4 are assembled and so these current introduction leads 4 are connected with the superconducting coil 1, with a connector 5 in between. At the same time, an interrupting switch 7 interlocking with the connector 5 is opened to disconnect a shunt current to a protective resistor 3. When the energizing of the superconductive coil 1 is finished and the current introduction leads are disassembled, the connector 5 is opened and concurrently the interrupting switch 7 is closed, so that a permanent current switch 2 and the protective resistor 3 are connected in parallel with the superconducting coil 1 and consequently the permanent current switch 2 is protected exactly.
