CONSTITUTION:A can 20 filled with content liquid is conveyed in a straight line, transported to a can-supporting rotary plate 4 for seaming unit 1 which is moved at a point A from a circular arc track to a straight-line track and fitted to a circular arc of can holder 5, 6. A seaming chuck 3 falls at a range A-B, a can cover 21 is fitted to a can 20 and revolved in such a state that it is put under a prescribed pressure. Then, they move at a range B-E as they revolve. At this range they are pressure-welded by a seaming rail 10 having a forming groove 11 on the surface engaged with the seaming part to perform a continuous seaming operation.
