Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the density of activated carbon, to reduce resistance, to enhance the degree of energy density and to obtain a highly reliable electrode suitable for rapid charging by a method wherein a polarizable electrode is formed using activated carbon powder or activated carbon fiber and carbonaceous material.
CONSTITUTION: Activated carbon fiber chops and coal tar pitch are mixed, and after the mixture has been hardened, it is heated up in a nitrogen gas atmosphere, and the volatile component of the coal-tar pitch is removed. Then, an aluminum layer is formed on one side of the obtained polarizable electrode 1, and a coin type capacitor is obtained.
