Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the arithmetic accuracy of a counting device by providing a means which counts pulses within a reference time and repeating this operation, a 1st decision means which compares the counted value with a set value, and a 2nd decision means which decides whether or not the last cumulative reference time is zero. CONSTITUTION:A counted value Ni obtained by counting pulses within the reference time ti is compared with the set value. When the counted value Ni is smaller than the set value N0, the counted value and reference time are added newly to the last total of counted values and the total of reference times. When the total counted value is larger than the set value N0, on the other hand, the total counted value and total reference time are used for arithmetic operation. When the counted value is larger than the set value and no arithmetic operation is performed last time, the last total counted value and total reference time are used for the arithmetic operation. Consequently, the number of pulses per unit time can be calculated accurately against variation with time.
