Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled material capable of controlling softening shrinkage, weight reduction etc. in its carbonization process, thus leading to supply of stabilized products, comprising two or more kinds of thermosetting carbonaceous precursors crosslinked through each specific linkage made from pitch heavy oil or tar. CONSTITUTION:The objective raw material comprising two or more kinds of carbonaceous precursors selected from ones: (a) crosslinked mainly through methylene linkage, (b) crosslinked mainly through ether linkage and/or acetal linkage, (c) crosslinked mainly through thioether linkage, and (d) crosslinked mainly through phenyl linkage each made from pitch, heavy oil or tar. This raw material is usable in combination with at least one kind of aggregate selected from graphite, calcined coke, raw coke, carbon black, mesocarbon microbeads and carbon fiber.
