Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a large levitation force by fastening permanent magnets with reversed polarities from each other to both pole faces of an electromagnet. CONSTITUTION:Levitating magnets 6 are fitted to four corners of the top surface of a carrier truck 7. Levitating rails 4 composed of magnetic material and primary side coils 9 of a linear motor are fixed to the ceiling 8. In said levitating magnet 6, excitation windings 5 are provided at upward U-shaped cores 3 to constitute electromagnets 2 and permanent magnets 1, 1' are fastened to pole faces of said electromagnet 2. In this case, the polarity of one permanent magnet 1 coincides with that of the electromagnet 2 and the other permanent magnet 1' is provided with a reversed polarity. Thus, the magnetic flux of said permanent magnets can be used effectively to obtain a large levitation force.
