Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled colorless fiber dyeable to arbitrary color without lowering the deodorizing performance and having excellent durability, by using a specific amount of a specific condensed phosphoric acid zirconium salt as a deodorizing agent component. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyester fiber contains 0.1-5wt.%, preferably 0.5-3wt.% (based on the fiber) of a condensed phosphoric acid zirconium salt as a deodorizing agent component. The salt has a particle diameter of <=10mum, preferably <=1mum and gives an aqueous suspension of pH5-8 at 3wt.% concentration. The deodorizing agent component is dispersed and compounded in the polyester e.g. by adding to a polymerization step of polyester, forming a master pellet or melting and kneading in an extruder.
