Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve thermal and optical stability and to lessen the deterioration in reproduction by using a specific polymethine compd. CONSTITUTION:A metal complex contg. the compd. expressed by formula as a ligand is incorporated into at least one of the under coating layer, recording layer and protective layer of a recording medium. In formula, R<1>, R<2> denote a lower alkyl group; R<3> denotes a lower alkyl group, alkoxy group, halogen or hydrogen; R<4> denotes hydrogen or halogen; l denotes integer in the range of 1-4. The thermal and optical stability are thereby improved and the deterioration in reproduction is lessened.
