Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily generate the copy of a bilateral symmetry in an auxiliary scanning direction by adding few circuits and software in a copying machine having plural image-forming stations (recording means) and a delay memory. CONSTITUTION:A storage means which selectively operates a delay output mode which delays recording color information for the prescribed number of picture elements at every recording color so as to output them, a storage mode which stores recording color information and a storage data output mode which outputs storage data at different intervals at every recording color, a switching means which switches the addressing direction of the storage means, and an input means for the mode of symmetry in auxiliary scan direction are provided. When the mode of the copy symmetrical in the auxiliary direction is set, the storage mode of the storage means is energized and then the storage data output mode of the storage means, the switching means and the recording means are energized. When a mirror image copy mode input means is provided, and an auxiliary scanning direction mirror image copy mode and the mode of the copy symmetrical in the auxiliary direction are both set, the addressing direction of a storage mode time and the storage data output mode time of the storage means can inversely controlled.
