Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a sentence read-out/correction device by deciding automatically the presence of homonyms in parallel with a read-out job and displaying the descriptions of those homonyms in a different way from the normal display in a correction process. CONSTITUTION:When the reading forms are given to each description via a character string analyzing means 2, the descriptions and their corresponding reading forms are successively stored in a reading string storing part 3. At this processing stage, the presence of homonyms are checked by a homonym check dictionary 6. When the homonyms are detected, the described positions are the number of characters of said homonyms are stored in an identification information storing means 5. In a read-out correction mode, the descriptions given from the means 3 are shown on a display 8 in different colors. Thus the places of the homonyms are specified. In a correction mode, a homonyms correction means 7 retrieves the dictionary 6 by the reading input given from the means 3 and displays the descriptions of plural corresponding homonyms on the display 8. As a result, the homonym correction is facilitated to ensure the improvement of operability with a sentence read-out/correction device.
