Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an photosensitive body capable of forming a good image by successively anodizing the surface of an Al substrate with an electrolyte having dissolution action and that having no such action and forming a photosensitive layer on the treated surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the Al substrate is anodized with a dilute sulfuric acid solution to form a porous film on the surface and a dense film under said porous film, then, treated with boiling water to form the monohydrate, and treated in a solution obtained by dissolving adipic acid in pure water, adding ammonia, and adjusting pH to about 5.5 by using the Al substrate as an anode, and allowing constant electric current to flow at a temperature of 60 deg.C, resulting in forming the surface of the substrate freed of roughness, and the porous film of 1-9mum thickness and a barrier film of (1-9)X10nm thickness by the primary treatment and growing the barrier film and enhancing insulating property by the secondary treatment, thus permitting the electrophotographic sensitive body obtained by forming the photosensitive layer on the treated surface of the substrate to form a good image free from any interference fringe and any black spot.
