Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness and stability by figuring out a control amount of an idle air amount control means from a conditional variable amount representing the internal condition of a system for controlling idle rotational frequency, an accumulated value of rotational frequency deviation and an optimum feed-back gain. CONSTITUTION:In idling an internal combustion engine M1, a control amount u of an idle air amount controlling means M3 is determined by a rotational frequency controlling means M4 on the basis of the rotational frequency Ne of engine detected by a rotational frequency detecting means M2. Then, a dynamic model of the internal combustion engine for determining the idle rotational frequency is built-up in said means M4 in consideration of a self-regression shift average model of degree having idle time and external disturbance. Also, while said rotational frequency Ne and the control amount u are generated from an output section M5 as the conditional variable amount, the accumulated value of rotational frequency deviation generates the output from an accumulation section M6, and the control amount u is calculated by a calculation section M7 from an optimum feed-back gain determined on the basis of said output and the dynamic model.
