Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify locking and unlocking operations for a lock attached to a window or door, etc., by making it possible to detect, using a magnetic sensor, changes in position of the lock between a locked condition and an unlocked condition. CONSTITUTION: A magnet 3 is attached to the end of a deadbolt 2 provided on a door 1 and a magnetic sensor 6 having a reed switch 7 built therein is provided at the strike part 5 of one door frame 4. During locking and unlocking operations, on and off movements are effected by means of the reed switch 7 when the magnet 3 attached to the end of the bolt 2 is moved toward and away from the reed switch 7. Appropriate indication means are added to selectively turn on a lock indicator lamp to allow easily checking whether the door is locked or unlocked.
