Abstract

The apparatus has a rotary drum filter (12) comprising a peripheral filter wall (26). Multiple peripheral blades (28) are arranged in the rotary drum filter. Circular separation walls (32, 34) are provided in the rotary drum filter. A continuous baffle is utilized for slurry between adjacent drum filter separation chambers (36, 38, 40). Declined flues (44, 46) are provided in the adjacent drum filter separation chambers (36, 38). The slurry is conveyed upwards by the peripheral blades in the drum filter separation chambers. The slurry is supplied to the rotary drum filter through a supply end.
