Abstract
Los distintos procesos de una planta son·segmentados en bloques separados de proceso que son conectados entre sí utilizando conductos de fluido o conexiones eléctricas. Cada bloque de proceso es especializado para realizar tareas específicas en un modo de línea de ensamble para conseguir un objetivo total. Por ejemplo, múltiples bloques de proceso de destilación podrían ser encadenados de tipo de margarita para crear combustible a partir del petróleo crudo. De manera general, cada bloque de proceso es suficientemente pequeño para ser montado en un camión o. para ser colocado en capas horizontales para un transporte fácil, permitiendo que una línea de ensamble de bloques de proceso sea transportada a cualquier lugar en el mundo con facilidad.
