Abstract
En fremgangsmåte er beskrevet for å skrive sanntids videosignaler på en optisk plate (2) som har et registreringsområde (40) som omfatter et administrativt område (43), et reserveområde (42) og et brukerområde (41). Normal registrering finner sted i blokker (45) i et første forutdefinert område (NW) av en ledig del (47) av brukerområdet (41). Dersom under registreringsprosessen en defekt blokk (45) påtreffes, foretas en erstatningsregistrering som har størrelsen av et flertall av blokker i et andre forutdefinert område (RW) av den ledige del (47) av brukerområdet (41), hvoretter normal registrering fortsetter i det første, forutdefinerte området (NW). På den ene side begrenser dette antallet av hopp for erstatningsregistrering og, på den annen side resulterer det i at lagringskapasiteten for platen (2) anvendes meget effektivt.
