Abstract
En fremgangsmåte for analyse av karakteristika ved et telekommunikasjonsnett ved måling av egenskaper ved tale som føres gjennom en linje som testes, omfatter de trinn å identifisere en del av tale- signalet som har en egenskap som er uavhengig av taleren, og detektere avvik fra denne egenskapen i det mottatte signalet, for derved å identifisere karakteristika ved signalet som er påtrykt av systemet. De egenskaper som identifiseres, kan være karakteristiske bølgeformer for tale-fonemer, hvor det faktum at menneskestemmen bare er i stand til å lage visse lyder, benyttes for å bestemme hvilke avvik fra disse lydene som er påtrykt av systemet. 1 et alternativt arrangement identifiseres en del av tale-signalet som har en egenskap som varierer på en forut bestemt måte i forhold til et absolutt karakteristikon ved taleren, og absolutte karakteristika utledes fra dette. Det absolutte karakteristikon kan være det absolutte stemmenivået, og den andre egenskapen kan være en taler-uavhengig funksjon av det absolutte nivået, slik som spektral-innholdet av de ustemte frikativer i talen.
