Abstract

The utility model discloses a shoe comprising a sole and a shoe upper adjacent the sole. The sole consists of a front sole portion and a rear sole portion, the front sole portion including a rubber outsole and a foam midsole above said outsole, and the rear sole portion being made of semi-rigid plastic material and having an upper panel and a plurality of spacedly arranged resilient flaps extending downwardly and sloping rearward from the upper panel. The resilient flaps serve as the shock-absorbing means when they are compressed upward upon application of vertical force derived when the sole is stomped onto the ground when the shoes are used when running and other athletic activities.
