Known thread measuring devices, as a rule, have a complex multi-element structure with a complex action. Their components require precise manufacturing, often with the use of difficult technologies, to ensure operational reliability. All this increases the cost of these devices, complicates the operation and increases energy consumption. Periodic switching on and off of components in these devices leads to frequent adjustments or replacement of parts. From the point of view of fabric technology, the dispersion of the length of the measured portions of thread, to a greater or lesser extent, occurring in these devices is troublesome. The British patent specification No. 2 131055 describes a thread measuring device, consisting of a tie stretched on two wheels, equipped with one driver the thread and two thread clamps located on either side of the tendon. When measuring the thread, the driver, rising up, pulls the thread from the coil. During this time, one of the clamps is open and the other is closed. After the thread is measured, i.e. when the driver reaches the upper position, its direction changes and the state of the terminals changes. Moving down the driver releases the measured section of the thread, and the open second clamp allows the thread to enter the shed. In the device according to the invention, the movable clamp pulls the thread of thread from the coil, stretched between the guides, forming a loop in the shape of the letter "U". When the driver moves into the area of operation of the shedder, the thread is lost from the driver, at the same time the thread clamp is activated, allowing the introduction of the measured thread section into the shed. The thread measuring device according to the invention is simple in construction and reliable in operation, and it is also characterized by good accuracy of the thread measured, as evidenced by there is a small dispersion of the length of the threads in the fabric. The use of guides with the axes of the holes directed in the direction of the driver's movement has the advantage that when creating loops, the threads move in one of the guides with relatively little resistance, while after the loops are reduced, due to the increased angle of the thread guides wrapping, rises sharply frictional resistance, which prevents the thread from moving in the guides, and thus from introducing into the shed a longer length of thread than the measured one. Compared to known devices, the solution according to the invention allows for easier adjustment of the length of the measured thread, as well as for the introduction of the thread into the shed in a shorter time, making it suitable for use on looms with a larger working width.
