Abstract

A layer of felt material (3) is fixed on a cylindrical roller. The roller is supported on a rotatable shaft (1) and is pressed against the surface of the moving grinding belt (4). The layer of felt may be adhered to the cylindrical roller, which is positioned so that the belt is trapped between the felt roller and one of the guide rollers. The speed of the felt-covered roller may be chosen so that slip may take place between it and the surface of the belt.
