Abstract

The present invention relates to an extruded, tobacco- containing compound for oral use, which compound consists of 35-55 per cent by weight of tobacco, 20-50 per cent by weight of water, 5-25 per cent by weight of binding agent, up to 1 per cent by weight of flavourings, up to 6 per cent by weight of softening agent, up to 0.2 per cent by weight of preservative, 1-5 per cent by weight of salt and, where appropriate, up to 4 per cent by weight of pH- elevating agent.
